 About

Afro Asian Journal of Social Sciences (AAJOSS) is a peer reviewed, independent, online journal focused entirely on Afro Asian region. It is a quarterly journal where social scientists of all hues can converge and express their views and thoughts. Afro Asia is afflicted by numerous problems which are typical to this region. The states here were colonized by Western powers for centuries. The vestiges of those years still remain in the psyche and mindset of the people. The physicality of the region also depicts lopsided patterns. Technological and scientific advancements exist side by side with extremely backward and orthodox value systems. Instances of conflicting practices and contrasts in growth levels of institutions are rampant which defy explanations and stereotyping and challenge theoretical formulations about the region.

Afro Asia is marred by problems of undeveloped areas and the travails of developing entities. Myriad problems like dysfunctional states, poor governance, tottering economies, embattled zones, democracy deficit, backwardness, human sustainability issues viz; poverty, disease, squalor, unemployment have constricted the states of Afro Asia.

Although much research in social sciences these days are focused on this region still there is need of more. Much remains still untapped.

AAJOSS is an interdisciplinary journal which provides a space to scholars of economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, law, psychology, public administration et al to discuss, study and interpret Afro Asia specific issues which lead to holistic explanations. It provides a forum for the publication of theoretical perspectives, case studies, policy reviews and research findings on the issues and problems of Afro Asia.

We hope the journal will play a role in intellectual blossoming and enhance our understanding of the conundrum called Afro Asia.
